How we quote a tattoo

We do not work from a price list. Every tattoo is quoted individually after we have talked, so the quote reflects your idea, your placement and the time the work really needs.

How does huginnink quote a tattoo?

We quote each tattoo individually, after you have shared your idea and we have talked it through. There is no fixed list to choose from, because no two tattoos ask for the same amount of work.

We would rather explain what a tattoo involves than hand you a number without context. That keeps the conversation specific, and it keeps the decision with you.

That is the fairest way we know. You receive an answer for the tattoo you actually want, not for an average one. A quote is part of the conversation, and it comes before any decision on your side.

What shapes a quote?

A quote reflects the effort a tattoo asks for, from the first drawing to the end of the session. Several things influence it.

  • Size of the tattoo
  • Level of detail and complexity
  • Placement and how demanding the area is
  • Time needed for the drawing and for the session
  • Whether it is a cover-up or reworks an older tattoo

Why is an individual quote fairer than a list?

A list has to simplify. A small, simple design and a small, intricate one can look similar on paper, yet one takes far more care. A single fixed table cannot do justice to both.

Talking first also protects you. We can suggest changes in size or placement, explain what drives the effort and help you decide what matters most, before anything is fixed. Sometimes a small adjustment changes the amount of work a great deal, and you can only see that in conversation.

What should you send to get a clear answer?

The more we understand your idea, the more precise our answer can be. A few sentences are enough to begin, and you can add more as we talk.

  • Your idea, in your own words
  • Reference images or a sketch, if you have them
  • The placement, and a photo of the area if you can
  • A rough size
  • A clear photo of the old tattoo, for a cover-up
  • Your arrival and departure dates, if you are visiting

What happens after you ask?

We write back, talk through the idea and shape placement and size with you. Once the idea feels right, you receive the quote for it, and a session date is agreed together only if you wish to go ahead.

Asking for a quote does not commit you to anything, and a request is not a confirmed booking. Take the time you need. If something is unclear, ask, and we will explain it.

Questions people ask

  • Can I get a price list?

We do not use one. Each tattoo is quoted individually after we have talked, so the answer fits your idea.

  • Does asking for a quote mean I have to book?

No. A quote is part of the conversation, and there is no pressure to decide.

  • Can the quote change after we talk more?

If the idea, size or placement changes, the work involved may change too, and we will tell you. We keep you informed as the design takes shape.

  • What helps most for a quick answer?

A clear description of the idea, the placement, a rough size and, where relevant, photos. If you are visiting, add your dates.
